Wordless Wednesday // Tybee Island, GA
The voice of the sea speaks to the soul…
I took these photos in March, on Tybee Island. It’s one of my favorite places to visit here in Georgia, especially on the coast. I sometimes sit in a swing for hours after the sun has risen. It brings me so much peace. The sea is so good for my soul. If you’re ever in the Savannah, Georgia area, you should plan to watch the sun rise at least one (North Beach, where you’ll find the lighthouse, is a favored spot. The Pier/Pavilion is also great for sun rise).
I’m really not very good at this whole blogging thing, am I? Life happens, and sometimes you get insanely immersed in it, and even sidetracked. No need for apologies. I’m raising two kids and a small zoo, I’m allowed, right?
Since my last post, several things have happened.
1) I got flowers for Valentine’s Day. For the first time ever. Yes, at 38. And from the most amazing man I’ve ever known. He made our first Valentine’s my absolute favorite so far. Umm, despite the taunting and teasing that went on for 2 weeks prior!
B) I updated my bedroom slightly. I painted the walls navy months prior, and have used the gold and white bedding since painting. I wanted some red accents since the color red is pretty sentimental to me (my grandmother Mac loved it). I went with subtle red, via the new accent pillow. I also added the teal nightstand, which replaced a natural wood nightstand. I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to home decor/interior design, but I’m pretty happy with the changes. They only cost me around $60 for both.
3) In March, I finally took down my Christmas tree. Yes, I waited that long. I’m a professional procrastinator, what can I say? In doing so, I rearranged and updated things in the living room too. It looks so much better than before. I created/designed the TV stand myself. It’s made with reclaimed wood, and I couldn’t be happier with it.
It’s April 14th, and I’m hoping I’ll do better keeping up with this blog. I make no promises, however. Like I said, life happens. You get busy and sidetracked.
How’s that for an update?
